RECLAMATION SUCCESS

Patriot Mining Co., Inc.
The Patriot Mining Company in Monongalia, West Virginia, was awarded the 1999 West Virginia Reclamation Award. The company used Fluidized Bed Combustion ash as an alkaline amendment to guarantee excellent post-mining water quality. Following reclamation, Patriot Mining donated the land, site preparation and revegetation of two soccer fields and a parking lot to the Morgantown Youth Soccer Association.
