Green Mountain Company was awarded the 1999 West Virginia AML Award-North for its work in Harrison County, West Virginia. Green Mountain was recognized for the removal of hazardous materials and the installation of a major drainage system to correct environmental degradation at the long-abandoned Owings Mine Complex. A total of 10 mine seals and a water quality treatment facility complete this 80-acre site.
