RECLAMATION SUCCESS

Wrentham Quarry

National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association Environmental Eagle Award

Operated by Aggregate Industries, the Wrentham Quarry in Massachusetts was awarded the National Stone Sand and Gravel Association’s 2004 Silver Environmental Eagle Award. The Environmental Eagle Award was created in 1992 to provide national recognition for aggregate-producing companies actively contributing to the maintenance of the environment in and around their operations, as evidenced by a corporate commitment to the full use of environmental controls and systems.

The environment plays a large role in Aggregate Industries’ US operations and recently it has been given an even higher priority. Aggregate Industries is taking a leap forward by developing and implementing a certifiable Environmental Management System (EMS) across all US regions. This EMS will meet the requirements of, and also be certified to, an international standard known as ISO 14001.
