Quarries, Inc.’s site in Willard, MO, was awarded the National
Stone Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) 2003 Gold Environmental
Eagle Award. The Environmental Eagle Award was created in 1992 to
provide national recognition for aggregate-producing companies
actively contributing to the maintenance of the environment in and
around their operations, as evidenced by a corporate commitment to
the full use of environmental controls and systems.
The company’s Mission Statement of Environmental
Guiding Principles states that they intend “to be good stewards of
our environment while providing quality products and service.”
| Conco works hard to stay in compliance with all
environmental laws, but it is committed to go above and
beyond what is demanded by law. The company understands that
it is important to also be environmentally sensitive to all
their neighbors’ needs, whether around a quarry site,
ready-mix production facility, driving down the road in a
ready-mix truck, or on a customer job. Conco’s commitment
to environmental stewardship is evident in the many awards
that it has received throughout the years, including the
National Stone Association’s About Face Certification, and
the Best of Competition for the Missouri Limestone Producers
Association (MLPA) Showplace Award for Quarry
Beautification. Conco Quarries has also received several
other awards from the MLPA and the NSSGA/NSA. |
