Argus Energy wins reclamation award for haul road construction

Argus Energy WV, in Wayne County, received a reclamation award for the innovative design and construction of a 17-acre haul road along Parker Branch of Kiah Creek. The company’s creative design techniques prevented the need for stream location, removed portions of the previously existing roadway from the streambed, and substantially improved water quality along that portion of Parker Branch.

The West Virginia Coal Association and the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection jointly sponsor the West Virginia Reclamation Awards program. The goal of the Reclamation Awards is to recognize the many positive reclamation results that are achieved each year across the state.
