Arch Coal, Inc.’s Mingo Logan Mine, along with Premium Energy Corp. and Pocahontas Land Corp, received West Virginia’s top reclamation award in 2001 for transforming former mine lands into an 18-hole, championship golf course. The 7,010-yard Twisted Gun public golf course is the only 18-hole course in Mingo, McDowell and Logan counties of West Virginia because of the steep cost of developing in the mountainous terrain.
