Educate Your Community

Students are your future

. . . employees
. . . voters
. . . neighbors
. . . regulators

Teachers are influential . . .
Teachers are usually the largest group of professional employees in your  community

High School Teachers average 61 students/day

Elementary Teachers average 34 students/day

Help them learn for as little as
$11 a Teacher
or
$51 a School

Special Programs We Have Provided
State-wide for older students, Grades 7 to 12.

An industry association wanted to help its members . . .

  • Put a local face on the industry

  • Expand local community relations programs

  • Groom future employees

by offering programs to every one of the 629 schools that had middle, junior and senior high students - reaching about 400,000 students.

The results -

. . . 53% of the high schools in the state said YES,
and asked to receive materials.

We delivered 1,367 programs to 629 schools. Cost was $11/program.

How it -

Every school was provided a sample of materials.  The offer was -- each school could receive the materials for free, for up to three teachers, provided:

  • they asked to receive the materials; and

  • they provided the names of the teachers.

Now, the members of the association have the names of interested teachers in virtually every community in the state, encouraging future contact between the teachers and the companies who supplied the materials.

The highlight of this project is that the state's 3rd largest school district revised its 4th and 5th grade science curriculums, making the program provided by the association an integral part of the curriculum.

How to Reach a Million Students
It's easy, if you have generous sponsors who are willing to pay for results.

Programs for VERY Large Schools

Science curriculum coordinators from two of California's largest school districts had a problem and they found the solution with MII.  We were able to help because four generous individuals (and Matching Gift Donations from two companies) paid for the program.

The school districts in Orange and San Diego Counties were looking for help to meet California's new mandated science curriculum standards. Both Districts wanted to provide our Ultimate Periodic Chart to every one of their 5th Grade classrooms - about 2500 classrooms, reaching 100,000 students each year.

The Orange County Department of Education has 28 school districts, 380 elementary schools, 22,000 teachers, and 515,000 students.  The San Diego County Department of Education has 42 school districts, 409 elementary schools, 24,000 teachers, and 500,000 students.  At 500,000 students, each of these Districts has more students than the schools in 22 states.  Combined, their 1 million students are more than the total enrollments in 35 states.

MII has the programs. Donors make it happen.

A Smaller Program, Across State Lines

One of our longtime sponsors wanted to provide Rock Odyssey to elementary schools near their operations (50 communities in four states).  And they wanted teachers to ask to receive the program, sight unseen.

We got a 46% response rate from the 256 schools contacted.  Teachers from two of the states provided a 62% request rate.

It was a tough project to bring about because it relied on direct mail to encourage teachers to request an educational video they had neither seen nor heard about.  Plus, the offer came in the middle of the school year when teachers were busy and when they receive a lot of other mail that is competing for their time.

We think the 46% positive response was very good - it rivaled the mid-50% response rate we have gotten on other projects where we could provide samples for the teachers to review.

This is an alternative method of distribution and we were able to bring about good results, in a project that has a lot of variables.

Look at the results

98% of the teachers said they used the materials

Teachers offer advice to companies . . .
We asked teachers what were the most beneficial things companies could do to support them in their classroom.

They said ...
